The mandate

A written mandate. A known fee. No other interest.

Every Tailorly Heritage assignment starts with a mandate with power of representation: you give us the power to act in your name with suppliers, tradespeople and venues, within a written scope. The effects of contracts fall directly on you.

Who pays whom

Money follows one road only.

Three parties, two separate relationships. No money passes between us and those who work for you.

Invoices from tradespeople, venues and professionals are addressed to you and paid by you. We do not collect, advance or re-invoice.

The scope

What we can do in your name.

The mandate lists in writing the powers you grant us. What is not written is not included.

Usually included

  • Requesting and comparing quotes
  • Engaging suppliers and tradespeople within the budget you approve
  • Receiving and keeping keys, codes and remotes
  • Entering the house and accompanying technicians and suppliers
  • Representing you with venues and professionals for an event
  • Receiving post addressed to the house

Never included

  • Buying, selling or renting property in your name
  • Signing notarial deeds or lease agreements
  • Collecting money or making payments from your accounts
  • Taking on commitments beyond the budget or threshold in the mandate
  • Submitting tax returns or building applications

For acts that require a specific notarial power of attorney we refer you to a notary. We never act beyond the written scope.

The rules

Six rules, written into every mandate.

01

Approval of spending

Every engagement starts after your written approval, WhatsApp included. To make the house safe in an emergency we may authorise up to €300, and tell you immediately.

02

Reporting

A report after every visit and a monthly summary of engagements, quotes and invoices received.

03

Response times

24 hours on working days; 4 hours with the Integrale plan for anomalies.

04

Confidentiality

Keys and codes kept separately and never written in documents. No photograph of your house is ever published. Non-disclosure agreement on request.

05

Duration and withdrawal

12 months. After the first three, withdrawal at any time with 30 days' notice, without penalty.

06

Handback

At the end of the mandate we return keys, codes, the report archive and the updated Libretto della Casa.

Three roles you will meet

Agent, manager, representative.

They are different, legitimate trades with different incentives. Often you need all three: we can represent you in dealing with the other two.

Questions

Questions about the mandate.

What is the difference between a mandate with and without representation?

With representation we act in your name: contracts with suppliers are directly yours. Without representation we would act in our own name and the rights would then have to be transferred to you. We always use the first form, because it is the most transparent.

Can I revoke the mandate?

Yes. The mandate is revocable; our contract provides for 30 days' notice after the first three months, without penalty. If you are a consumer signing at a distance, you also have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason, under the Italian Consumer Code.

Do you sign contracts in my name without telling me?

No. Every engagement is approved by you in writing before it starts. The only exception is urgent action needed to make the house safe, within the €300 threshold written in the mandate, which we report immediately.

Why don't you collect suppliers' invoices yourselves?

Because whoever handles someone else's money has an interest in the price. By paying directly, you see the original quote and the original invoice: no mark-up is possible.

Can the mandate be signed remotely?

Yes, by electronic signature or exchange of signed documents. The first site visit, however, is always in person.

The scope, in writing, first of all.

After the first conversation and the site visit you receive a draft mandate to read at your leisure. No commitment until you sign.
